WizVision’s PINPad terminal solution chosen by Bank Mandiri of Indonesia

Singapore, 1 December, 2003 – WizVision today announced the successful implementation of WizVision’s PINPad terminal solution, deployed in 1,400 branches of Bank Mandiri, Indonesia

Bank Mandiri provides comprehensive financial service to more than 6 million corporate and individual customers as well as small and medium sized enterprises in Indonesia. The corporate customer base of Bank Mandiri represents the core of the Indonesia economy and the export sector. By sector, Bank Mandiri is well diversified and is particularly active in the mining, retail, cement, power, oil and gas and aviation sectors.

The traditional method of verification of a Bank Mandiri’s customer identity was through signatures. This method, however, has been increasingly prone to forged signatories and fraudulent incidents in recent years. As such, Bank Mandiri decided to enhance their customer authentication methods to protect their clients.

One of the solutions proposed to Bank Mandiri was WizVision’s PINPad Solution. This solution is simple yet effective against cases of criminals impersonating as genuine customers or misrepresentations as authorized payee by customers.

When a customer transacts over the counter, as the first step of verification of identity, he would have to provide his signature. The enhanced layer of authentication requires the customer to further prove his identity by having to key in Personal Identification Number (PIN).

Successfully deployed in all 1,400 branches of Bank Mandiri with over 4,000 pinpad terminals, WizVIsion’s PINPad Solution has helped to protect Bank Mandiri’s customers and reduced drastically cases of frauds.
