M-payment
(Mobile Payment) Solution for StarHub developed by WizVision

Singapore, September 1, 2003 – WizVision completed
development of M-payment solution for StarHub
Starhub is a provider of
mobile phone services to both consumers and corporate users over its
GSM/GPRS network. The Singapore-based info-communications company
also provides a full range of information, communications and
entertainment services over fixed and Internet platforms, and
operates its nation-wide broadband network that delivers
multi-channel PayTV services, data services, voice services, and
Internet access services.
WizVision was engaged to
build a Mobile Payment Gateway to link StarHub’s SMS/WAP service to
merchants and financial institutions, to allow consumers to pay for
goods and services purchased via SMS.
In addition, WizVision was
also engaged to develop a system to build a mobile payment application
to provide StarHub Green prepaid mobile customers an alternative
channel to top up.
StarHub is the first
operator in Singapore to introduce a system that allows these
customers to easily top-up their prepaid SIM card via SMS with just
their mobile phone and a Telephone Personal Identification Number (TPIN)
issued by ABN AMRO, Citibank or MayBank.
